We recently completed a repair project for a local business involving several bicycle racks and traffic posts. The original issue was that the posts and racks were extremely loose, with bolts set directly into asphalt. The client initially requested a simple re-tightening, but we explained that we would not be able to offer any warranty in that situation since the original installation was not done by us. In essence, if we’re just adding onto another contractor’s work, we can’t guarantee it will hold up.
Instead, we recommended a permanent solution that we could stand behind. Our team removed the surrounding asphalt and excavated roughly one foot deep to create a proper concrete base for each rack and post. Using a diamond saw, we made clean, precise cuts to maintain a neat finish around the asphalt. We then installed rebar reinforcement, poured 4,000 PSI concrete, and set new bolts into the fresh base.
The following day, we returned to tighten everything down. The result is a secure, sturdy installation built to last—and this time, with our warranty included because it’s work we fully designed, installed, and can stand behind. The client was very happy with the outcome.
